The Project “Faith in Nessebar” is a pilot project of the Municipality of Nessebar for conservation of Nessebar churches, design of the public spaces around them and development of cultural tourism route. It is a complete project proposal of the Municipality of Nessebar for application under the Grants Scheme: BG161PO001/3.1-03/2010 “Support of natural, cultural and historical attractions development”, Operational Programme “Regional Development” 2007 – 2013, Priority axis 3: “Sustainable tourism development”, Operation 3.1.: “Improvement of the tourist attractions and the related infrastructure” (February 2011). Its implementation is upcoming.
The Project includes three sites:
3.1. “Conservation, Restoration and Socialization of St. John the Baptist Church”, Nessebar.
The project is initiated by the Municipality of Nessebar and is developed by the team of arch. V. Panjarova, arch. D. Georgieva, arch. M. Velkov and I. Stoyanova, on behalf and with the support of the Bulgarian National Committee of ICOMOS. Attached are parts of the working design (in Bulgarian only).

3.2. “Conservation, Restoration and Socialization of St. Paraskeva Church”, Nessebar.
Socialization and exhibit of the surrounding environment. The Project is initiated by the Bulgarian National Committee of ICOMOS with the support of the Municipality of Nessebar and A.G. Leventis Foundation. It is developed by the team of arch. E. Kaleva, arch. E. Andreeva, arch. T. Mihaylov and arch. A. 3.3. “Specialized scheme for development of cultural tourist route “Road of Spirit”, fragment from the church St. John the Baptist to the churches of St. Paraskeva and St. Archangels Michael and Gabriel, Nessebar.

The Project “Faith in Nessebar”, initiated by the Municipality of Nessebar and its specific proposals are fully consistent with the strategic objectives of the Management Plan for the conservation of the outstanding universal value and for sustainable use of the property.
